RM Penny – managing waste and recycling across the South West

Everyone has become more conscious of reusing and recycling waste. We aim to manage waste in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

This starts at the beginning of our demolition contract with you. We carry out a pre-demolition survey of the structure, taking into account which materials can be reused or recycled. There may even be a commercial benefit for you from some salvageable materials. We can offer clients a financial saving if sufficient resalable materials are available.

RM Penny will work with you to achieve your BREAM targets. At the end of the project, we’ll provide you with all the waste data you need for your records.

We also offer a demolition salvage service for contractors looking for certain materials and items – please contact us to find out more.

Our Bath recycling depot

Recycling can be carried out on site, or removed to our own dedicated recycling depot. This depends on the size and location of the site, and how much space there is to house waste containers. Suitable materials are recycled by crushing and screening, or by hand selection.

On-site crushing

When crushing happens on site, it’s possible to use the crushed material as aggregate for any new development – a great way to save costs. The aggregate usually produced is type 6F2, which can be produced straight from the crusher. (Different aggregates may be produced, but this is a more involved process as additional screening is needed.)
